About Tahoe Quarterly

Tahoe Quarterly was first started in 1999 with the desire to bring a truly first class publication to the Lake Tahoe area. A Quarterly in title, we originally published four issues a year celebrating the seasons of Tahoe. Several years ago, we introduced two special issues: Holiday (now Insiders' Annual) and Mountain Home. In these special issues we are able to devote more attention to the topics our readers enjoy most in the seasonal issues: food & wine, art and mountain homes.

In 2004 we also published the Photo Annual, featuring almost 100 photos of Tahoe by some of the area's finest photographers.

The magazine is owned and operated by a partnership, which includes Doug Swanson (President) and Chaco Mohler (Editor). Each brings with them a substantial wealth of magazine experience, guiding the success of Tahoe Quarterly.

In addition to Tahoe Quarterly we also publish a regional magazine called Big Sky Journal. Based in Bozeman, Montana, Big Sky Journal (www.bigskyjournal.com) is an award winning literary magazine devoted to the Northern Rockies. Now in its 10th year, Big Sky Journal celebrates the Big Sky lifestyle with features on artists, writers, fly-fishing and other outdoor activities.

Separately from these regional magazines we also publish a dynamic real-estate magazine called Homeseekers in various communities around the North Western United States. Homeseekers Tahoe (www.homeseekerstahoe.com) is the premier local real-estate magazine with distribution in Tahoe and the Bay Area.

As we enter our 8th year we are more excited than ever about the magazine and our place within the Lake Tahoe community. We will continue to produce the magazine with the highest regard for editorial and photographic excellence. We will continue to offer our advertisers a unique environment in which to interact with Tahoe residents and visitors. And we will continue to have fun and enjoy life at The Lake.
